Having specialised in photography, I was fortunate to work with some great brands and agencies. Right from coordination, location hunting to post production. Being an intern on different projects gave me enough scope to experiment. After a lot of struggle and persistence finally got my first big break, as a trainee, on the movie Waqt-The race against time. Worked with Mr.Amitabh Bachchan on my very first project. What followed after that were films like Kaal, Taxi No.9211, Anwar, to name a few and lots of advertising films as a chief assistant. My job was to help my HODs in planning, execution and maintaining continuity. I was exposed to a huge setup, jumped into it with the right mindset and honest intentions.
Specialised in cinematography. This was a big turning point in my career. I met my gurus Mr.Rajen Kothari & Mr.Vikas Desai during this period. They got my attention into detailing in films and how emotions play an important role is bringing audience to cinema halls. Meeting and engaging with so many talented people. Realising we are as good as our team and the importance of collaboration was yet again reaffirmed. Did series of films for SBI. Travelled across India. A life changing experience. Shifting states, meeting so many different people and realizing and experiencing the true meaning of unity in diversity. The team helped us create some amazing content for this institution. A satisfying experience which lasted for over 6 months.
Creating an identity and living up to its expectations became a key. Shot series of films, also worked with our national heroes Ratan Tata, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble and a number of established guests, also worked on documentaries and short films, thus venturing into the fiction world as an independent filmmaker. Handling and leading a team will always be a motivating and a satisfying experience.
As they say with great power comes great responsibilities. Taking care of our crew was our priority. A vaccinated crew and the periodic RTPCR tests, made sure we are readily available for the requirements put forward by our clients. Shot series of films for the Indian Navy, from submarines to destroyers, the first of its class. Discoverd the true meaning of the term, captain of the ship, what it means. From seeing Torpedoes to Brahmos missiles to engaging in fruitful discussions with the onboard crew. We grew threefold through this experience. Lupin gave us a platform to fly, right from their Tarapur plant, to Nagpur and their facility in Balewadi, Pune. A learning experience working with a dedicated team and a great institution under the able leadership of Late Mr.Desh Bandhu Gupta.
